What does 'diver-stated' mean?

This is a confusing message, but one part of it is crystal clear: This is a scam. It wasn't sent by a U.S. soldier named David Cox or Daviid Cox or David Dean, but by someone trying to con you. When you reply, the "confidential" message will an invitation to help launder money, or something like that. Links to news stories on the BBC prove absolutely nothing about the authenticity of a message. Delete messages like this. Don't reply to them.

Dear friend ,

I am MSgt. David a Master Sergeant in the U.S Army. Kindly View the BBC news article Listed below. My experience and challenges serving under the U.S Army in Iraq, makes me feel Diver-stated, but I am very optimistic that I will not die in the battle, by the special grace of God.

Your prayer and friendship will be highly appreciated at this point in time of my life. To crown it all, I have some thing confidential I would like to disclose to you, but you will have to assure me that no other ear will hear it.

Waiting for your favorable response.

Yours Sincerely,

MSgt. David.

  1. oh yes i have on from mgst david dean.i was in the military and these stupid scammers make me sick.well first of all master sergeant is MSGT not MGST.for one.two they all use the same BBC NEWS REPORTS and this TRANSACTION IS ALWAYS CONFIDENTIAL BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT YOU TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY BECAUSE THEY KNOW YOU WILL BE ADVISED IT IS A SCAM.i am a baiter.i will waste their time...always.these guys will impersonate jesus christ if they know they can steal money from you.people dont fall for it.i always ask them to send me a copy of their military id. since i was in the military i know what it looks like.they always send some fake made up one that looks nothing like a us military id.AND ALSO ANY REAL US SOLDIER SHOULD KNOW ITS AGAINST THE LAW TO EMAIL A COPY OF A US MILITARY ID TO ANYONE BECAUSE IT IS PROPERTY OF THE US GOVERNMENT.PEOPLE PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THESE SCAMS ALL IT IS,IS A CON TO GET YOU TO SEND MONEY FOR "DOCUMENTS" OR "DELIVERY FEES" WHICH THEY SAY IS GOING TO SOMEONE ELSE BUT TRUST ME THE SCAMMER IS PICKING UP YOUR MONEY AT THE WESTERN UNION OR MONEYGRAM TO PUT IN HIS POCKET AND YOUR MONEY IS GONE.AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MILLIONS OR "CONSIGNMENT BOXES OF CASH"THEY PROMISED.IT ALL A PLOT TO RIP YOU OFF.EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY THEY ARE IN IRAQ OR THE UK IT USUALLY IS A SCAMMER SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA.MOSTLY NIGERIA.DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO ANYONE YOU DONT KNOW.AND IF THEY SAY SEND MONEY TO YOURSELF IN YOUR NAME AND GIVE THEM A COPY OF THE WESTERN UNION OR MONEYGRAM RECIEPT OR THE MTCN MONEY TRANSFER CONTROL NUMBER.BELIEVE ME THEY ARE GOING TO PICK THAT MONEY UP EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN YOUR NAME.AND WESTERN UNION WILL TAKE NO RESPOSIBILITY AND YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK.
